Hi Bea here from Bea Grob Mixed Media and More. I find it always helpful to try out the new supplies in a Artjournal and that's excactly what I did. I have been inspired by the quote “Your wings already exist. All have to do is Fly.” I do love quotes and words in my Artjournal and use them quite frequently.
I did first start with the Butterfly stamp for Rebekah Meier and some Distress Ink .
I did place it somewhere in the lower third and wasn't overly concerned about a perfectly stamped image. I knew it will be only peeking out in the end.
Next I did spray a stamp by Sarah Matthews with some water before applying Distress Ink.
When I have loaded my stamp with Distress Ink (Peacock Feather) I did twist the stamp a bit while applying the ink to the page. I wanted a more blurry impression and also some movement
Still need more background “noise” going in so I did use the stamp from Cat Carr and yes I did use it upside down, it wasn't about the text, but rather I wanted some pattern going on.
For a background it was still a bit to clear, so I decided to spray the page with more water.
Much better now, that all the patterns and colors mingle around.
We are not done yet, I did grab a Mixed Media paper and this time I wanted a clear and crisp image, which I did stamp again with the same violet.
I also did stamp a head in black and a crown in yellow onto the same paper.
I did cut out my Butterfly. To make it stand out better I do like to go around the edges of my elements, so here I'm using the same ink and go along the edges of the butterfly.
Now for the head I needed a body which I did draw on some old bookpage, just a simple shape, nothing fancy.
I do like to give my Butterfly a little bit of dimension by pulling it over a pencil.
To glue down all the elements I did use some Tacky Glue. I did glue everything down really, except the Butterfly, which I did glue only in the middle.
Time to add the quote, I did use some markers in black and white.
So here is my finished page, I hope you enjoyed and go now to do your own page with some stamps from Artfomies.
