Hello! I cannot believe its time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day! When I saw this ballet shoes ArtFoamie, I just knew it would make a really cute Valentine card. I’ve always loved making homemade Valentine cards!
Stamp ballet shoes in desired colors. I used a paint brush and painted all the different parts with the colors I was going to use. Also, stamp a few extra hearts. Then, use the swirly small stamp to make some background paper. Stamp all over the black card stock with pink. I stamped several times before re-applying the paint with a brayer. Then, splatter silver paint all over the card stock.
While the paint is drying, cut the card stock for the card base and inside liner.
Base: 10 inches long by 7 inches tall
Inside: 4.75 by 6.75 inches
Then, score each flap of the card 2.5 inches in from the sides so they meet in the center. When the background paper is dry, cut it to 4.75 by 6.75 just like the inside liner and then in half. Adhere the liner and the outside background paper. (Paper will meet exactly in the center leaving a pink border around the edges.)
When the ballet shoes are dry, cut them out and cut the heart in half to go on each side of the center. Cut a large heart doily in half and adhere to the card front before adhering the ballet shoes. Then, cut out one of the extra hearts and adhere it to one side only of the card front with some foam adhesive. (Note: every piece on the front is cut in half, meeting in the center except this last heart layer which is kept whole.)
Tie a ribbon around the card! You could also add a sentiment on the front or inside, but I chose to leave mine blank. This way, I can use them for Valentine’s Day or even another occasion.
