Hi all ,
It’s Dannii here from the Art by Marlene Promo team. I am so excited to be sharing with you a quick video tutorial using ArtFoamies.
I created my project with a Manila office folder trimming the extra tab from the top of the folder so that it was even on both sides.
I simply folded one side of the folder into the centre spine using a bone folder then flip the folder and repeat the process with the other side creating a concertina. Next step is to open the folder up horizontally and fold the base nearly to the centre creating the pockets, which we will store the tags in.
You then simply fold the folder up again creating a front and back cover and four pockets on the inside.
I then decided to use my gelli plate and some acrylic paints from my stash to layer paint on the folder and 8 Manila tags. Covering both sides of the folder giving it a painted effect. Whilst layering colours on my gelli plate I also pulled ghost prints between paint changes. These ghost prints were used later to stamp the ArtFoamies designs onto
to create the collage pieces.
Once the folder and tags were covered in layers of brightly coloured paint and were completely dry I used single paint colours to brayer them on my gelli plate so I could load up my ArtFoamies with a nice even distribution of paint and stamped directly onto the tags and folder. This was done in a variety of colours from light to dark including white and black paint for contrast.
Once everything was dry the tags were glued together back to back creating 4 double sided tags and I added some ribbon.
I then grabbed a stack of gelli prints and stamped quite a few ArtFoamies designs in mostly black paint. Which once dry I fussy cut each of the pieces out creating the collage pieces.
That’s when the fun began arranging the ArtFoamies prints and gluing them down to the tags and folder.
Once I was happy with my collage efforts I doodled over the ArtFoamies prints with permanent pens. This helps to make the artfoamies pop from there background.
When all the pen work was completed the tags were placed into there pockets inside the folder and tied closed with ribbon and there you have it! A very simple and fun project to create I hope you give this a go.
