Upcycling is so much fun, we can make just about anything our heart desires using things that others either discard without thought of another use or something that you would not normally think of.For this project, I had a box from a local liquor store that had all these great dividers in them. My mind goes immediately to shelves and cute little unit to put in the house for little things.
Step One and Two.
Spray paint the entire outside of the box, I used Rust-Oleums Metallic Copper spray paint. It took two coats to cover the vibrant green color on the box.
I placed the box where I wanted it to go but felt like something was missing. So back to the drawing board.
Time to break out the ArtFoamies stencils and give it a new look on the sides.
Tip: Always tape your stencils to the surface with masking tape. It holds the stencil in place and easily removes from most any surface.
Using modeling paste for dimension, spread on the left side window. Once dry, move to the right side and repeat. This gives you the look of two windows on the side of the box.
Time to add another stencil, I chose the birds on a branch to give it a nature look under the windows. Using the same process as before, tape the edges, fill with modeling paste. Once finished, let it all stand and dry.
I am not coloring it, as I wanted white in the first place and was going to use white paint. I decided to use the past instead for dimension.
Now that it is dry it will be ready to put back in place at home.
